When in Rome, do what the Romans do

Image
Recently I spent a few days in Rome for my annual holiday and god it was great to get away. When I'm in England I tend to go for safe outfit choices and (I didn't go all out) when I'm on holiday I like to pretend I know a thing or two about fashion? (Did that even make sense) Day 1: This was my plane outfit, a casual, turquoise smock dress , but we also visited the Spanish Steps and a few local sites. When I'm flying I want to be comfy but not too warm, so I tend to go for a light dress. This was from Primark and it was £5. Day 2: On our second day we visited the Vatican City, which you have to be appropriately dressed for. I opted for my jumpsuit (Primark £12) and to cover up whilst in the cathedral and Sistine Chapel I used my floral kimono (New Look £20-£30?). This was really light and easy to wear and I paired it with a light blue Egyptian style necklace (Forever 21 £5-£8). Day 3: On our third day we went to Euroma 2 ( a shopping cen...

5 must-have products for acne prone skin

Image
As you know I am a long time sufferer of acne, which is far better now, but I have definitely tried A LOT to get rid of it. Some have been fairly expensive and others fairly cheap but personally there are 5 things that I have stuck to and believe actual work! This isn't really for severe acne treatment but for mild treatment and prevention :) (Note my fifth product JUST ran out and I stupidly threw it away, so I had to get a picture off google images) Product 1: Simple Rapid Action Spot Zapper When I first bought this I was vey sceptical because a lot of products claim to get rid of spots in a limited time frame. But I have to say this actually lives up to it's name (mostly) only that it reduces the spots and re-application is needed. (Which it does state on the back). Personally I love this a lot because it's made by simple which I know doesn't have harsh chemicals that will make my skin dry or horrible. Definitely a must have :) Price: £5.49 ...

Advice: Being confident within yourself

Image
Hey guys! So if you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I previously did a post on Self Confidence (go check it out). However, it was more about my personal struggle with self confidence and just talking about the issue in general. I've noticed that so many I you have read the post that I've decided to give some 'advice'.  Now I a m by no means an expert but I just thought that it would help :)  Tip 1: Know your flaws and accept them  (Source: Google Images)  The stem of self confidence issues for many people are their flaws. We tend to pick at all the bad bits about ourselves because someone mentioned them once and make it ten times worse than they actually are. But, if you know you're flaws and accept them then no-one can use them against you. No-one can bully you or tease you about them because you know that no-one is perfect and you're perfectly okay with it :)  Now you may think, what does she know? This girl is just some st...

Reflective Monday

Image
I'm ill today so I have a lot of time to think. I was just thinking of the personal goals I set myself in January and whether I achieved them or not. (Source: me...) In one of my previous posts about Self Confidence I said I would wear less make-up and I'm going to be honest I have found it extremely hard. I have tried once or twice but I feel as if everyone is looking at me and laughing. It's stupid and pretentious but it's how I feel. I actually cried a bit when I got home about how stupid I was being but I still don't have the confidence to go facially naked. :( I'm working on it though :P I have a lot of insecurity issues but I have decided to get of these. The first thing I'm going to do is when I think of something negative about myself I'll also think of something positive. I'm also constantly reminding myself that this is how I view myself and not how others do. It also doesn't matter because I can't change it and I need to learn to...

Self Confidence

Image
Self Confidence is such a big issue among people my age. With people in magazines being airbrushed and society forcing you to conform to their idea of perfect, it's only natural for people to get lost and upset. I'm one of those people. Now this is not a sob story but I merely felt like sharing this with you guys (even if it's just a few of you). I have never been an overly confident person but I was not ashamed of who I was when I was younger. I was just your average child until puberty came along. In my family there is a long history of severe acne problems, so I kind of had it coming. When I first started to get spots they weren't that bad, however to this day they have (not so much ruined) but made my life bumpier.  I'm a British born Indian who isn't THE most attractive person but now I look in the mirror and feel nothing but hatred. When I was 11 or 12 that was when people started commenting on my acne and my many flaws. People didn't ...
